Brandeis University invites applications for a Lecturer in the Department of Economics to teach one section of the following course during the fall semester of 2021.

ECON 23A:  Latin American Economic Development

Prerequisite: ECON 10a.

Introductory survey of the economic, financial, and institutional forces that drive Latin American economic development. Topics include poverty and inequality, human capital, geographical determinants, institutions, debt crises and the macroeconomy.

Candidates should be prepared to hold office hours.

Applicants having a Ph.D. in Economics or a related discipline, and previous university-level teaching experience, should submit a single PDF file containing a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement detailing previous experience and teaching methodology, and evidence of teaching effectiveness (i.e., course evaluations).

We will begin reviewing applications on June 10, 2021, and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
