£42,792 to £49,553 per annum
The School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies at the University of East Anglia wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Broadcast Journalism and Digital Creative Practice to join a team teaching Broadcast and Multimedia Journalism.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach production to students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will be joining the small practical journalism team within a leading Politics department. Teaching will encompass all aspects of modern journalism production, technical and editorial. In particular, you will instruct students in location videography and audio, studio practice and post-production (video and audio).
We are looking for an experienced media professional with recent or current industry experience. Must have experience in all the relevant broadcast production roles, production supervision and trouble-shooting. Experience of working on current affairs and/or newsroom production is essential. Experience of production for online and familiarity with internet content management systems would also be highly desirable. Some experience of HE teaching is desirable but not essential. Above all, we’d like to hear from a genuine broadcast enthusiast with a desire to share that passion with the next generation of multi-skilled electronic journalists.
The post-holder is expected to:
- Design and deliver engaging lectures, seminars and workshops at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Work closely with existing team to secure and maintain BJTC accreditation.
- Advise Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, attend Open Days and Applicant Days and carry out administrative duties commensurate with experience and career stage.
This full-time post is available from 1 September 2021 on an indefinite basis.
We strongly encourage applicants from Black, Asian or other minority ethnic backgrounds and welcome applications from all protected groups as defined by the Equality Act 2010. Appointment will be made on merit.
Closing date: 12 July 2021
