A group of Kurdish agricultural workers were physically assaulted by a nationalist mob for speaking Kurdish in Afyonkarahisar province, the pro-Kurdish HDP deputy Ayşe Sürücü tweeted.
“Kurdish agricultural workers were attacked while going to a barber shop in Derçine village of Afyon’s Sultandağı district. 7 people, including 2 women, were hospitalized due to wounds from the attack,” Sürücü tweeted.
Although around 15 million Kurdish people live in Turkey, the Turkish authorities refuse to accept Kurdish as an official language in the country.
