Job Summary

GRINNELL COLLEGE. The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in research methods beginning Fall 2022. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Instructor (ABD or foreign equivalent) possible. Research and teaching interests might include, but are not limited to: critical criminology, critical race studies, law and society, and the sociology of education. The successful candidate should plan to teach an introductory course, contribute to methodological and statistical training, and offer courses in their area of specialization. The teaching load is five courses [OR EQUIVALENT] over two semesters; periodically one course will be Tutorial (a topical writing/critical thinking course for first-year students, the only College-wide requirement beyond the completion of a major in an individually-advised curriculum).
