Reporting Senior: Dean of Behavioral & Social Sciences
Job Grade: 907
Job Purpose: Develop and teach history courses.
Essential Job Functions:
Develop and teach history courses, including American History and World History.
Prepare course syllabi, course materials, evaluate student learning and maintain class records.
Participate in curriculum development, student recruitment, student advisement, departmental meetings, and college committees as directed.
Perform job functions in accordance with the institution’s policies and procedures.
Incorporate technology into the history curriculum delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Leadership & Supervisory: This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but is expected to participate as part of a team in conjunction with other faculty and as a member of the Behavioral Social Sciences division. This position will recommend or help with project and program direction.
Master’s Degree in history, or a related field with 18 or more graduate hours in history will be considered.
Understanding and acceptance of the comprehensive community college philosophy.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
Teaching experience at the college level in World History and American History.
Knowledge of course delivery through information technology methods.
Dual enrollment teaching experience.

Environment & Working Conditions: Office environment is temperature controlled with occasional fluctuations. May be exposed to varying conditions when traveling to various work locations on other campuses.
Physical Demands: (including requirements for travel or working nights/weekends/holidays)
Ability to operate and manage computer equipment and multimedia equipment as well as standard office machines in the department.
Travel to other campuses as needed to deliver course content.
Support evening and distance education offerings as needed to reach students.
