How can you make a difference? 

Under the overarching supervision of the Child Protection Manager, the Information Management (IM) Officer for the Child Protection Section and the Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR) will oversee the IM functions within these domains. This role entails ensuring that IM processes significantly enhance a coordinated, strategic, and effective response from all stakeholders involved in the Section and the AoR, while maintaining accountability to those impacted by the crisis. To facilitate a prompt and effective response to the humanitarian situation, the IM Officer will be tasked with managing the collection, analysis, and dissemination of critical information necessary for the Section and CPAoR to make informed, evidence-based strategic decisions, while ensuring proper coordination with national entities.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the IM Officer will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination and representation for the CPAoR.
  • Support for the IM functions of the CPAoR and the UNICEF Child Protection Section.
  • Conducting needs assessments and analyses for the CPAoR.
  • Strategic response planning for both the CPAoR and the UNICEF Child Protection Section.
  • Mobilization of resources for the CPAoR.
  • Implementation and monitoring activities for the CPAoR and the UNICEF Child Protection Section.
  • Conducting operational peer reviews and evaluations for the CPAoR
  • Ensuring accountability to affected populations for the CPAoR and the UNICEF Child Protection Section.
  • Enhancing national and local capacities for the CPAoR and the UNICEF Child Protection Section.

Minimum requirements:

Education:

  • A university degree in one of the following fields is required: Information Management or Information Systems, GIS Information Technologies, Computer Science, Statistics, Social Sciences or another subject area relevant to Information Management or to the AoR Working Group.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in information management, data management, geographical information systems, assessments, situation analysis and/or PM&E with the UN and/or NGO is required.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English language is required.
