The Glenwood Springs Post Independent seeks a reporter to connect our community with the stories that matter in Garfield County, Colorado.

We have six municipalities, three school districts, a college district and a whole lot of public land in our county. The successful candidate for this role will focus their coverage and curiosity on our county beat: energy development, conservation, agriculture, growth, immigration and more. In other words, it won’t just be county commission meetings: you’ll be connecting with residents and learning firsthand about the dinner-table issues facing Garfield county.

Recent college graduates who have already published content through a student news organization or other outlets are encouraged to apply. Spanish language experience is a plus.

Outside of the office, you’d be living in one of the most beautiful areas of the West. We don’t have a lot of beaches, but we’ve got mountains, deserts, world-class skiing, whitewater rafting, gold medal fishing and more.

Compensation: $20 – $23/hour. Benefits include up to a $500 annual recreation reimbursement, free passes to Sunlight Mountain Ski Resort, vacation and sick leave, medical, dental, vision, 401K match and more.

To apply, send your resume and 3-5 clips or links to published stories to Publisher/Editor Peter Baumann at [email protected]” target=”_blank” title=”http://[email protected]” style=”color: rgb(0, 120, 215); text-decoration-line: underline;”>[email protected].
