Position description

The Department of Political Science at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a visiting full-time faculty position in comparative politics for the 2025-2026 academic year to begin in August 2025. Candidates should specialize in Latin America. Candidates will be expected to offer two sections of Latin American Politics (19 students) and one section of Introduction to Comparative Politics (27 students) in the fall. In the spring, candidates will offer two sections of Introduction to Comparative Politics and an upper-level course (19 students). This is a one-year, full-time position owing to a faculty leave. Visiting full-time faculty teach 3 courses each semester and are eligible to apply for support to present at a conference or attend a professional development program through the Provost’s Supplemental Research Fund. The College will support reimbursement of relocation costs within its published policies. All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and include full benefits.

Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogies as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field. Candidates should have experience as an instructor or teaching assistant for introductory courses in comparative politics and Latin American Politics. A preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Political Science at the time of appointment; however, advanced ABD candidates with appropriate teaching experience will be considered.
