Recep Tayyip Erdoğan unleashed new attacks against the European Union, Greece and Cyprus on Thursday, during a General Assembly in the Turkish Parliament.
“It is our primary choice to resolve differences over the distribution of political and trade prospects in the Eastern Mediterranean on a fair basis,” Erdogan said initially.
He went on to say: “The spoiled European Union, Greece and the Greek-Cypriot side are holding us captive, having created an inefficient and shallow structure. There is not a single problem that has arisen in our region and has been solved on the initiative of the European Union. On the contrary, every crisis in which the Union is involved has intensified, acquiring new dimensions.”
As reported by protothema.gr, Erdoğan also referred to the developments in Nagorno-Karabakh: “We are wholeheartedly on the side of Azerbaijan. The way to peace in the region is for the Armenians to withdraw from every inch of the Azeri territory they hold. I warn those who support this ruthless state of Armenia that they will be called to account before humanity.”
