Course description: During times of crisis, can our government maintain individual liberty? This course provides an in-depth exploration of the tension between the role of the state in balancing civil liberties with national security. In this context, the course provides a specific focus on freedom of speech, press and assembly, freedom of religion, the right to privacy and the courts’ role, or lack thereof, in the War on Terror.
Position Requirements
MA, JD, or PhD in Political Science, Homeland Security, or a related field.
Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Previous experience teaching at the college level
Work experience within the legal field (such as a practicing attorney or work for local, state, or the federal government)
