Position description

The Department of Global Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses in Global Studies for upcoming openings. Courses needed may include the following areas:

Global History, Culture and Ideology
Global Socioeconomic and Political Processes
Global Culture and Ethics
Global Ideologies and World Order
Global Economy and Development

Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the curricular needs of the department. Positions may range from 33% to 100%. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD (or equivalent) except the dissertation at the time of application.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

PhD by time of appointment, and one or more years teaching experience in related field.

Preferred qualifications

Department seeks candidates with backgrounds in the social sciences, humanities, or interdisciplinary fields.
