Job Description:
The Sociology and Criminology Department at Assumption University invites applications for a Professor of Practice in Criminology to start in Fall 2022. This position will help support our growing criminology program and share responsibility for the criminology program curriculum with existing faculty. This includes teaching the two introductory courses, Introduction to the Criminal Justice System and Criminology, and upper-level electives in the new faculty’s area of expertise. The ability to teach Statistics, Research Methods, Internship Seminars, or introductory sociology courses is strongly preferred. This is a full-time teaching-focused position that includes expectation of service, including undergraduate student advising.
Requirements:
Applicants should have a PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology (with a demonstrated concentration in Criminal Justice and/or Criminology), or closely related academic field. ABD graduate students with prior teaching experience will also be considered. A JD is not considered an appropriate degree for this position.
