The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that his country had entered the process of normalization with Egypt, but that process is moving slowly, adding in a speech on Wednesday at a seminar entitled “Turkish Foreign Policy in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean” that the process  with Egypt is a dual one.

“If Egypt is sincere in normalizing relations, it will take steps. Normalization is progressing slowly, but not from our side. The agreements we signed with Libya are not against Egypt’s interests.” The Turkish Foreign Minister said.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said las Friday that dialogue meetings with Turkey stopped after two sessions because Ankara’s practices in Libya didn’t change.

Shoukry talked to Al-Arabiya TV about stopping the dialogue with Ankara, citing Egypt’s anger at the Turkish military presence in Libya, adding that one of the matters of concern for Cairo was that foreign forces had not left Libya.
