A special advisor to Syrian leader Bashar al Asad reiterated the administration’s rejection of Turkish military intervention in Syrian territory, in an interview with Syrian state TV al-Sourya, SANA reported.

Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic said that the Turkish military forces use “flimsy pretexts to justify the presence of terrorists operating under its umbrella in northwestern Syria,” which is internationally rejected because no country has the right to defend its security within the borders of another country.

Shaaban added that the Turkish regime does not adhere to its commitments with Russia, and fabricates arguments to implement its ambitions in the Syrian and Iraqi territories defending their agents and proxies in the region.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan complained earlier that Russia did not fulfill its responsibility to control the Northern Syria as agreed and let the control in the region fall in the hands of Kurdish militants.

Shaban said that the goal of today’s Western-led wars is to break up countries from within and to form regional blocs against them, indicating that what is taking place in Iran is part of a systematic plan to break the axis of resistance, and is part of the United States strategy of draining Russia and Iran and continuing the blockade on Syria, but Russia is fighting today to make this world multipolar.

“Syria is focused, under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, on making the formulas of joint Arab action real, not formalities, decisions that are not implemented, and rhetoric that does not lead to any result,” Shaaban said.
