President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, addressing his party’s 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress in Samsun, delivered statements emphasizing the goals of the People’s Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) and Turkey’s security policies. Referring to recent contacts with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan following a call from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, Erdoğan underlined the determination to remove obstacles on the path to achieving the vision of a “Great and Powerful Turkey.” He expressed confidence that the People’s Alliance would succeed in its mission and stressed the importance of national unity by stating, “Brotherhood will prevail in Turkey.”
Referring to contacts established with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan following a call from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, Erdoğan said, “Our sole objective is to remove the final obstacles to achieving our vision of a great and powerful Turkey. As the People’s Alliance, we will undoubtedly succeed in this. Brotherhood will prevail in Turkey.”
Stating that there is no third way for the PKK, Erdoğan added, “The separatist terrorists will either bury their weapons immediately or be buried along with their weapons. There is no third way beyond this. Attempts at artificial respiration will not bring the separatist organization back to life.”
