Job Description Summary

Rogers State University is accepting applications for a full time Assistant Professor for History & Political Science. This position requires teaching public administration, public affairs, and federal government courses, including the general education courses, at the undergraduate level through different modalities including face-to-face and online.

Reports to: Department Head

FLSA: Exempt

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Strong teaching abilities;

Ability to engage and recruit students to the major;

Ability to work collegially with other members of the department;

Experience in the filed of History & Political Science;

Proven grant writing skills and/or ability to teach select international relations courses.

Required Degree

Doctoral degree in public affairs, public administration, or a related field by the date of appointment is required.

Licenses and Certifications

Essential Duties

Teach public administration, public affairs, and federal government courses, including the general education courses, at the undergraduate level through different modalities, including face-to-face and online;

Advising duties to department majors;

Carry out our liberal arts mission;

Emphasize excellence in classroom instruction with the desire and ability to engage with students as they launch their intellectual journey;

Engage in departmental and University service and maintain an active research agenda;

Effectively work with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
