The Department of Sociology and Anthropology (http://socanth.olemiss.edu ) at the University of Mississippi invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Anthropology in biological anthropology beginning August of 2022. The geographic area of research is open, but a specialization in bioarchaeology and health-related research or a similar interest is preferred. We are a four-field anthropology program seeking a candidate whose research complements and expands current strengths both within the department and on campus. The appointment includes a 3/2 teaching schedule in undergraduate and graduate classes and thesis supervision for BA and MA degrees in anthropology. The University of Mississippi is an R1 institution, and successful candidates will develop externally funded research with international impact that engages diverse communities. A Ph.D. in anthropology is required by the start of the appointment.
