(North Press) – On Friday, a Turkish soldier was killed and another was wounded in shelling by the Syrian government forces of a Turkish base in the village of Hazwan in the countryside of al-Bab, a city east of Aleppo.

An exclusive source told North Press, “The government forces targeted the Turkish military base in Hazwan in al-Bab countryside with mortars, killing a Turkish soldier and wounding another.”

The source added that the targeted soldiers were transferred via a Turkish military helicopter to Turkey.

It noted that the source of the shelling was from the direction where the government sources are stationed in Radar Shghalah in Aleppo eastern countryside.

Al-Bab city in eastern Aleppo has been under the control  of Turkish forces and the SNA factions since 2017.

Earlier today, the Turkish forces and their affiliated armed Syrian opposition factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), shelled the government positions in several towns and villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo with heavy artillery.

The shelling resulted in only material losses.
