İYİ Parti Genel Başkanı Meral Akşener, partisinin Samsun 3. Olağan İl Kongresine katıldı.

“I have never said that I want the post of prime minister for free. My party will be first in the elections. I have never negotiated with anyone,” said Meral Aksener, leader of the Good Party, following reports that high-ranking representatives of her party had negotiated with the opposition alliance to make her “acting prime minister” if the alliance won the election against President Tayyip Erdogan.

During her election campaign, Aksener frequently said she wanted to be prime minister, referring to her party’s policy of returning Turkey to a parliamentary system after the elections.

The Cumhuriyet newspaper reported on Friday that a delegation from the Good Party visited other parties that make up the opposition bloc and proposed that Aksener be appointed vice president after the elections, a post referred to as the “acting prime minister’s office”

The delegation said Aksener deserved this because the Good Party had as many votes as the CHP (Republican People’s Party).

Former Interior Minister Meral Aksener, 65, has come to the fore in recent years as a potential challenger to Erdogan.

After being expelled from the ultranationalist MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) in 2017, she founded the nationalist Good Party and a year later formed an alliance with the CHP.
