Turkey’s opposition Democracy and Progress Party (DEVA) Industry, Entrepreneurship and Digital Transformation Policy Chair and Balıkesir Lawmaker Burak Dalgın on June 14 submitted a parliamentary question prepared by artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT.
In the motion, Dalgın asked Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır about the government’s policies on artificial intelligence.
Dalgın reminded that artificial intelligence technology offers new opportunities by enabling human-robot cooperation but also poses possible risks.
He asked Minister Kacır if there is a comprehensive assessment of the current artificial intelligence infrastructure and capabilities in Turkey, and whether it will be published.
“What policies does the government plan to follow to encourage the development of artificial intelligence technologies and improve our capabilities in this area? Does the government have a plan or strategy to address the emerging ethical and security challenges of AI? Does the government have a plan for the integration of AI technologies into national security and defense strategies? What improvements are planned in our digital infrastructure (internet speed, fiber optic networks, data centers, etc.) to support the development of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies?” Dalgın asked in the motion.
