Are you passionate about news and storytelling driving positive change in global development?

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to
support our special coverage team in creating impactful live journalism
events, podcasts, and other digital content around critical global
convenings such as the United Nations General Assembly, World Bank
Annual Meetings, United Nations Climate Talks, or COP, World Economic
Forum, World Health Assembly, and beyond.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct research: Explore the issues that matter to our Devex
    community, help to develop ideas for interviews or panels, and identify
    innovators and thought leaders- and how best to reach them- to feature
    in our events and podcasts.
  • Manage speaker correspondence: Handle communications with a robust
    roster of speakers to confirm speaking details, schedule briefing calls,
    collect and share key assets, prepare event and podcast materials
    briefs and materials, and join speaker briefing calls that spark
    confidence.
  • Provide strategic assistance: Support the senior editor and
    executive editor and EVP with both seeking and managing external
    speaking and moderation opportunities, coordinating logistics and
    scheduling, and developing presentations.
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner with social media, marketing,and
    production teams, as well as the Office of the President, to ensure
    content flows smoothly from concept to execution, maintaining
    consistency across the entire event lifecycle.
  • Keep organized: Maintain meticulous organization of project
    timelines, deliverables, and communication. Ensure all tracking tools
    and documents are up-to-date to support efficient event management.
  • Support event coverage: Support any write-ups or video recaps from
    event sessions, providing input on what moments are most valuable and
    interesting for the Devex community.

Thrive in Our World:

  • You possess a minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in a journalism,
    content creation, communications, event management, or editorial role.
  • Your writing and editing skills are top-notch, clear, and concise.
  • You are excellent at juggling multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • You don’t let things fall through the cracks, managing up and sideways as needed to ensure projects stay on track.
  • You’re a whiz with content management systems and tools (bonus points!).
  • Stellar communication and interpersonal skills are your jam.
  • You navigate the English language with fluency (written and spoken).
  • A fast-paced environment fuels your creativity.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in journalism, communications, or a related field is ideal.

This role is a remote position and the salary range will be based on
the candidate’s location and market rates to align with Devex’s global
compensation philosophy. If selected for an interview, we can share the
compensation range specific to your geographic area.
