Contract Logistics Operations Manager in Istanbul, Turkey

Join a global and market-leading logistics company in a pivotal role as Operations Manager for our Contract Logistics site in Istanbul. The scope of the role is to successfully lead a highly knowledgeable team while ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement of processes within the Contract Logistics site

Your Role

It is the overall mission of the Operation Manager to plan, direct and implement client operations and administrative support to meet productivity and service goals. It is his duty to direct the operation of the warehouse team to achieve objectives. Manage a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within agreed cost, revenue and profit parameters.

Your Responsibilities

• You will maintain, coordinate, optimize and supervise client operation

• You will deep dive into operation processes, their analysis, evaluation, monitoring and optimization (operational and administrative)

• You ensure correct usage and constant improvement of the WMS (Warehouse Management System) and the optimization of operation space usage, MHE exploitation and storage options;

• You will interact with customers and suppliers, and coordinate of existing and new businesses

• You supervise and ensure competency development of the individual employees in your team

• You steer and take part in the planning and implementation of the roll-out for our new customer

• You drive and lead continuous improvement processes/projects following QSHE standards and policies

• You ensure developing controlling tools and client specific logistic solutions

• You will make sure compliance with Quality Safety Health Environment policies and requirements and with Food Defense policies and requirements

• You will be responsible for implementation and maintaining of Kuehne+Nage Production System and to drive the constant improvement process

Your Skills and Experiences

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in related fields

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in Logistics Operations

• Strong leadership abilities to motivate and lead a team

• Solid experience from a similar operational role within warehousing or Contract Logistics

• Commercially minded and capable of interacting with customers

• Result-oriented and possess the ability to lead by example

• Sound knowledge of the occupational health and safety disciplines

• Well-accustomed to working with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

• Fluency in written and spoken Turkish and English
