The Winston-Salem Journal and Greensboro News & Record are seeking a reporter to cover topics that matter to the people of the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina.
The goal of our newsroom is to dramatically increase our paying digital audience – our loyal readers! – by giving the 1.7 million people in the Triad the stories they crave and can’t get anywhere else.
We’re looking for somebody who can grow an audience by understanding what matters to the citizens of the Triad and what content they want and need, learning from audience metrics, and working with editors to adjust their coverage and storytelling priorities accordingly. The ideal candidate will thrive under pressure, craft compelling and accurate stories on tight deadlines, embrace digital-focused storytelling, and effectively engage an audience on social media, as well as shoot video to accompany their reporting. Both seasoned veterans and recent graduates are welcome to apply. We’re looking for the right fit for our award-winning team, which operates as one team from our newsrooms in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. A valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance is required.
The Triad, anchored by the cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point, is a thriving hub for arts and entertainment, growth and development and healthcare.
