Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international non-governmental organisation that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services, including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety-related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations and training.

INSO provides daily support to more than 1200 NGOs operating in 19 of the world’s most insecure countries.

INSO Ukraine

With offices in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Odesa, we support more than 320 NGOs—including 109 national organisations. Our services reach approximately 17,700 NGO staff, 91% of whom are national staff. Job Summary

As Training Manager, you lead the strategic planning, delivery, and evaluation of INSO’s training programs in Ukraine. Based in Kyiv, with regular travel across the country, you ensure training is responsive to evolving operational contexts with a focus on organizational safety, crisis management, personal risk mitigation and humanitarian access. You uphold INSO’s high training standards, adapt content to current risks and manage a national training team. This role reports to the Country Director and is open to both national and international applicants on a full-time, renewable 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities

Training Implementation

• Plan, organise and deliver courses on NGO safety, personal security, humanitarian access, and crisis management.
• Conduct regular training needs assessments; shape strategic training plans.
• Engage partners, collect feedback and adapt training accordingly.
• Maintain and revise training content and learning materials.
• Design and integrate monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools.

Team & Coordination

• Manage the national training team and training operations.
• Collaborate with the Deputy Director and Safety Advisory Teams.
• Liaise with other INSO country training teams to exchange practices.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in humanitarian, adult learning or civilian safety sectors.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing teams and projects.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian, written and spoken.
• Knowledge of NGO safety/security management, humanitarian access, personal safety and principles.
• Strong coordination, planning and networking skills.

Desirable

• Experience delivering NGO safety/access/security training.
• Recognised training and assessment certification.
• Curriculum development experience.
• Public speaking and facilitation skills.
• Experience operating in conflict-affected environments.
• First Aid and/or Project Management certification.
• Experience using technology in training settings.
