About the Role
The Lecturer, Health and Physical Education (Secondary) is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, in the Health and Physical Education area and other disciplines related to Teacher Education Programs and at least one other discipline area in education, preferably curriculum and assessment. The successful applicant is also expected to supervise research projects and theses at the postgraduate level in areas related to their areas of expertise, contribute to School, College and University strategic plan targets in research and/or consultancy, and maintain and develop his/her professional standing within the profession or discipline.
The Health and Physical Education team teach across the Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Health, Physical Education and Sport (Secondary) and the Master of Teaching Practice (Primary and Secondary).
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver face to face/ intensive/ fully online Teacher Education Programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.
- Ability to undertake course coordination role.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
- Demonstrated ability to teach Teacher Education Programs effectively in primary/middle and/or secondary school settings and contribute to the professional learning of practicing teachers.

Qualifications
Mandatory: PhD in a relevant discipline and a recognised teaching qualification together with recent experience appropriate to the Australian Primary and/or Middle and/or Secondary School sector.
