Position description

A day in the life of a Regional Director, West Africa:

At Samaritans Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.

In the role of Regional Director, West Africa, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him;
  • Lead staff and international field representatives towards the successful implementation of the OCC project;
  • Incorporate global standards of the OCC project into the regional context of West Africa;
  • Lead regional logistics efforts to secure and maintain tax free import status in each country of the region;
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, development, and leadership of national and regional leadership teams;
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to effectively steward ministry gifts and materials;
  • Oversee the management and growth of the Greatest Journey Discipleship Program;
  • Provide valuable program feedback to refine global standards of training and implementation;
  • Develop and track the regional budget and ensure the effective management of country grants;
  • Build profitable partnerships with affiliate offices and other ministry departments serving in the region;
  • Support the arrangement of ministry trips in the region;
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Missions, Missiology, Theology or other related field, and three to five years international living and cross-cultural ministry experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education;
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire;
  • Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required); French (preferred).
