Description:
The Washington Examiner is hiring an Investigative Reporter. The ideal candidate should have a track record of delivering agenda-setting, influential stories. They should be able to produce multiple exclusives, enterprise stories, and compelling series that set The Washington Examiner apart from its competition. They should be familiar with the inner workings of the federal government, how to submit FOIAs, how to read campaign finances, and how to spot government – and private sector – corruption, hypocrisy, and ethics violations. The candidate should be comfortable and familiar with reading data sets and presenting them in an easily digestible, compelling manner. The candidate should have a keen understanding of a conservative audience and what it wants to read. Although the reporter will be granted a certain level of independence, they should also be comfortable working within a team, sometimes collaborating with other reporters when the opportunity arises.
