All CAS concurrent courses must pass through a rigorous development, approval, and revision process. Meanwhile, students from across the State of Oklahoma can earn, with full tuition remission, up to 27 college credit hours while they remain enrolled in high school-up to nine hours during their junior years and 18 hours during their senior years.

About Oklahoma State University, its College of Arts and Sciences, and its Department of Political Science

With a 130-year-long history, Oklahoma State University is one of the nation’s most comprehensive land-grant university systems. OSU welcomes more than 34,000 students and 7,400 employees to its campuses in Stillwater, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Okmulgee. Exceptional strengths in the arts and humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences and mathematics are hallmarks of the College of Arts and Sciences. The college homes 23 distinct academic units and offers coursework to nearly every student who enrolls at the university. OSU also can point to major institutional strengths in engineering, agriculture, and business.

The Department of Political Science’s mission is to address challenging questions of governance and societal relevance in order to broaden awareness about civic and political issues among students, colleagues, and members of the general public, in order to prepare them to act effectively in the world. The members of its faculty have developed several programs in service of these goals, including bachelor’s degree options in campaigning, global politics, pre-law, and public policy, as well as master’s degrees in Politics and Policy Studies and Peace, Conflict, and Security Studies.

Stillwater, where the college’s main offices reside, is a growing community consistently winning awards as a “best place to live,” most recently in Money Magazine. Stillwater is located about an hour’s drive from both Oklahoma City, to the south, and Tulsa, to the east. The addition of commercial air travel, wide availability of gigabit internet, and the McKnight Center for the Performing Arts enhance Stillwater’s vibrant culture. The cost of housing is roughly 20 percent lower than the national average.
