Description:

The Gazette News Group is seeking a passionate and skilled news reporter to cover Greene County for the Daily Mail and HudsonValley360.com. This is a chance to dig deep into the heart of a growing community, with a particular emphasis on government accountability and regional economic development. If you’re a strong writer with a knack for navigating complex topics and building relationships, this could be the opportunity for you.

What you will do:

  • Identify and report on trends and breaking news in the region

  • Cover county board politics and their effects on the community

  • Produce impactful investigative, explanatory, and feature stories on government accountability, economic development and other topics of interest 

  • Create diverse content including photos, videos, web updates, and in-depth print articles

  • Collaborate effectively with reporters, photographers, and editors

What you will bring:

  • Strong news judgment, collaborative approach and sense of urgency

  • A passion for in-depth reporting and storytelling

  • Proficiency in various content creation formats

  • A college degree and at least two years of daily journalism experience (preferred)

  • A strong understanding of digital media and its role in journalism

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
