Position description

FIPRA is looking for anAccount Managerwith experience working in industry sectors on energy & environment policies. Our team brings over 20 years’ expertise advising clients on EU and EEA/UK political and public affairs, facilitating dialogue and input to achieve impactful outcomes.

As anAccount Manageryou will have the opportunity to work in dynamic sectors facing evolving challenges and opportunities. Your contribution will help clients navigate the intersection of policy and industry, driving positive change and innovation across multiple fields. We require prior experience in at least one of the following areas: energy and/or decarbonization, mobility, chemicals, or circular economy, with substantive policy knowledge.

The position demands expertise and a strong understanding ofEU legislative and regulatory processesas well as awareness of ongoing discussions and their impact on businesses. Ideal candidates will be familiar with and haveestablished networkswith relevant stakeholders, key organizations, and authorities within the European Commission, EU Member States, and the European Parliament.

You will report to and be mentored by the Practice Lead, working closely with colleagues and our Special Advisors to deliver high-quality outcomes.

In this role, you will assist the practice lead and manage client needs and cases daily, supported by a collaborative and expert team. Clients may need guidance on policy matters and how these intersect with other EU policies, including industrial, environmental, transport and digital. Experience across several policy areas is highly valued.

Roles and responsibilities

      • Managing client relationships and ensuring services are delivered to meet client expectations.
      • Collaborating with other FIPRA practice areas to leverage expertise and resources.
      • Conducting research, monitoring, analysis, and gathering intelligence using both FIPRA resources and your professional network.
      • Lead on the development and roll-out of advocacy campaigns for clients.
      • Directing new business proposals and pitches, and leading support teams.

Skills & Requirements

What we are looking for:

      • At least 5 years’ experience in public affairs developed within an EU context.
      • Evidence of leading effective public affairs programmes or campaigns.
      • Experience gained within an EU Public Affairs consultancy is preferred, together with experience from a corporate setting, trade association, or EU Institution.
      • A strong knowledge of and expertise in the Energy or Industrials (Mobility also welcome) sectors in Brussels.
      • A relevant network of EU and national policy makers and stakeholders in these areas.
      • Commercial acumen and the ability to identify new business opportunities.
      • Curious by nature with a desire for learning and innovative practices.
      • A high level of motivation and drive for excellence.
      • Eligible to work in Belgium
