Salary range: The current 9-month academic year salary range for the Assistant Professor position is $84,100-$132,900. However, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than these ranges, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Political Economy Program at the University of California, Berkeley seeks a tenure-track assistant professor for a position 50% in Political Economy and 50% in a related discipline. The program has identified interdisciplinary economics as a priority, including any subfield of the discipline (such as labor and public economics, economic history, or industrial organization) and not only the subfield called âEURoepolitical economy.âEUR? The position is also open to scholars in related disciplines who could offer courses in priority areas for curriculum expansion such as finance, the digital economy, climate change, international political economy, race, ethnicity, and/or immigration and migration.

The program is committed to addressing the family needs of faculty, including dual career couples and single parents, as well as candidates who have had non-traditional career paths or who have taken time off for family reasons. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

PhD or JD (or equivalent international degree), or enrolled in PhD or JD or equivalent international degree-granting program.

Preferred qualifications

Past research record and/or future research plans for research in interdisciplinary political economy, past teaching record and/or future teaching plans for teaching courses in interdisciplinary political economy, a commitment to the mission of developing the best possible interdisciplinary political economy program for scholarly research, undergraduate teaching, and graduate teaching.
