Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in Enterprise Resources Planning Management Section (ERPMS), Programme Support and Management Services (PSMS), Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Geneva. The Assistant Programme Management Officer will report to Team Lead of ERP Strategic Oversight and Coordination Unit and the Head of ERPMS of OHCHR.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of Team Lead of ERP SOCO Unit, the Assistant Programme Management Officer will be responsible for the following duties: • Works with key clients to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects, etc.; monitors and analyzes specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and recommends corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions. • Carries out basic research on selected aspects of programmes, operations and other activities, etc., to include collecting, analyzing and presenting statistical data and other information gathered from diverse sources. • Assists in performing consulting assignments, in collaboration with the client, by planning facilitating workshops, through other interactive sessions and assisting in developing the action plan the client will use to manage the change. • Participates in survey initiatives; assists with design of data collection tools; issues data collection tools, reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares preliminary conclusions. • Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analytical notes, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc. • Provides administrative and substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying and proposed participants, preparation of background documents and presentations, handling logistics, etc. • Undertakes outreach activities; participates in the development of training workshops, seminars, etc.; participates in and makes presentations on assigned topics/activities. • Participates in field missions, including provision of substantive and administrative support, data collection, etc. • Supporting the implementation of changes in ERP systems and the rollout of new projects and initiatives. • Support the section chief with the monitoring the delegation of authority portal. • Identifying opportunities for process optimization within the organization, working with process owners and relevant stakeholders to streamline workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance productivity. • Continuously evaluating and monitoring the performance of the ERP system and its users, identifying transactional errors, and coordinating with other ERP teams to address the need for user training and system improvements. • Tracking and reporting key performance indicators to the management on a regular basis. • Performs other duties as required.

Education
A first-level university degree in business administration, management, economics or a related field. (Candidates for this position must have passed the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the G to P Examination. No examination is required for candidates in peacekeeping missions.)

Work Experience
Applicants to positions at this level who have an advanced university degree in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience. For applicants who have a first level university degree, two additional years of qualifying work experience is required. Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] decentralization and deployment is required. A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in projects management, or administration processes is desirable. Experience with MS Visio and MS Project is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in three of the working languages of the UN Secretariat, English, French and Spanish (both oral and written) is required.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
