The End Fund

Position description

The END Fund is a leading collaborative philanthropic investment vehicle dedicated to controlling and eliminating neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). NTDs are parasitic and bacterial infectious diseases – including intestinal worms, river blindness, trachoma, schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis, and visceral leishmaniasis – that affect over 1.65 billion people globally. The END Fund’s vision is to ensure people can live healthy and prosperous lives free of the risk of NTDs and has set out to accomplish this by:

– Mobilizing and investing resources for maximum impact,

– Advocating for innovative, integrated and cost-effective NTD programs; and

– Facilitating philanthropic and private sector engagement to end these diseases.

By engaging a community of activist-philanthropists and taking a systems approach, the END Fund works in collaboration with governments, local and international NGOs, pharmaceutical companies, and academic partners on the global campaign to control and eliminate NTDs by 2030.

Since our founding in 2012, along with partners, the END Fund has provided over 1.8 billion treatments in 37 countries, performed over 143,000 life-changing surgeries, and trained 6.4 million health workers to preempt and treat NTDs. The END Fund works globally in over 25 countries, with a primary emphasis in Africa.

ABOUT THE END FUND’S PROGRAMS TEAM

The Programs team is responsible for sourcing, designing, managing, supporting, and monitoring the END Fund’s programmatic investments, projected to exceed $64 million in 2025 across four investment funds: The Flagship Fund, the Deworming Innovation Fund, the Reaching the Last Mile Fund, and the ARISE Fund.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The END Fund is seeking a collaborative teammate to join the operational program management of its newest investment portfolio called the ARISE (Accelerate Resilient, Innovative, and Sustainable Elimination of NTDs) Fund. The ARISE Fund is the second phase of a direct response to the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office’s (FCDO) funding cuts to Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) in 2021. The first phase provided funds for the most critical NTD program activities across 16 countries while maintaining as much momentum as possible towards 2030 NTD elimination goals. The second phase (2022 – 2025) focuses more deeply on five countries with an emphasis on the core principles of country leadership, supporting local partners, technical innovations, sustainability, and accelerating progress towards elimination of the five most prevalent NTDs. The Program Associate will demonstrate commitment to and passion for these core principles of the ARISE Fund.

The END Fund maintains substantive involvement with implementing partners and governments in managing the programs it supports. A key member of the END Fund’s Programs team, the Program Associate will support the ARISE Fund in project management and oversight for a portfolio of NTD elimination programs. They will also play a key role in the planning and execution of convenings with ARISE partners and stakeholders for virtual and in-person events.
