WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for Director, Manufacturing & Systems Engineering EMEA (MSE director), the role is located in Istanbul, Turkey and will be responsible to cover third party manufacturing in Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Moldova and any other countries within the region & reports to Senior Director Innovation & Manufacturing Engineering based in Singapore.
MSE director leads strategic planning and execution of manufacturing systems engineering, quality engineering, and technology initiatives to enhance competitiveness, productivity, quality, and efficiency across Nike’s APAC Manufacturing operations. key responsibilities include developing and implementing both foundational ( quality, manufacturing readiness ) and advanced ( shop floor automations, enterprise digital transformations) capability development road maps at 3rd party manufacturers . Additionally, the MSE director monitors key metrics to ensure continuous improvement and engages stakeholders to foster a culture of excellence.
The ideal candidate must possess a robust understanding of Manufacturing technologies, shop floor automation, and Digitization, coupled with a continuous improvement mindset & methodologies. They will be tasked with assessing an organization’s genuine needs and collaborating with stakeholders to craft an action plan. Moreover, the candidate should excel in working with all organizational levels to steer and shape overall team productivity effectively. Strong influencing skills are imperative, as the role also entails coaching leaders and employees of a different company. Additionally, adept team building and delegation skills are crucial, given that coaching will encompass a blend of on-site and remote activities.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you will spearhead the development and implementation of foundational and advanced capabilities across the region’s supplier base. You will lead a team of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing System Engineers to drive excellence in Lean, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Garment Engineering, Automation, and Digitization. Your strategic responsibilities will include collaborating with regional manufacturing leadership to create a roadmap for in-region manufacturing, focusing on efficiency, quality, and competitiveness. You will guide and influence 3rd party manufacturers to adopt lean thinking, build robust quality management systems, and enhance industrial and value engineering capabilities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. To support Nike’s manufacturing country sourcing strategies, you will enable seamless production line launches with high quality, low manufacturing costs, and shorter lead times. Additionally, you will introduce and develop advanced manufacturing technologies like automation and digitization and processes to promote product excellence, boost productivity, optimize costs, and reduce lead times.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Your will drive quality engineering and manufacturing modernization by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and digital transformation. You will guide 3rd party manufacturing partners’ change management plans, encourage knowledge sharing and best practices across the global supplier base, and forge strategic relationships with key stakeholders in collaboration with Nike Partner management and Product Integrity teams
You will also collaborate with Nike product creation teams & Costing Excellence teams to refine construction standards, enabling shop-floor automation in manufacturing. Furthermore, you will facilitate end-to-end digital connectivity within the Manufacturing ecosystem and with Nike by working closely with factory partners, Nike functions, and technology teams.
WHAT YOU BRING
-
A pertinent experience in Advanced Manufacturing encompassing Shop floor Automation, Robotics, Tooling Engineering, Design for Manufacturing, Digital Technologies, Garment Engineering, and related areas. Also, relevant experience in developing and deploying Quality Engineering strategies encompassing error proofing methodologies, compliance standards & continuous improvement driving right first-time quality at the needlepoint and beyond

Proficiency in GSD (Global Sewing Data) and background in factory capacity planning & management.

Proven track record of driving large-scale transformations, including Digital Transformation and factory automation initiatives.

Experience leading organization-wide initiatives with multi-stakeholder engagement.

Familiarity and experience with deploying Continuous Improvement Methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is highly desirable.

Ability to envision the future, develop strategies and roadmaps to realize that vision, establish partnerships, and implement solutions.

Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to develop individuals and teams.

Aptitude for collaborating with multi-cultural, multi-layered, global teams to achieve success.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coach others for development.

Relevant training/certificates/experience: Industrial Engineering or similar discipline from an accredited university; a postgraduate degree in engineering or management (MBA) is advantageous.
