Summary
Vermont Public’s Music Hosts are the on-air and digital ambassadors
for Vermont Public, and facilitate the discovery and enjoyment of
music for our audience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Digital content and engagement -
Audio production -
Selects music -
Hosts program -
Advances audience engagement opportunities -
Engages in use and upkeep of music technology as needed, such as
ENCO or Music Master -
Playlists are online in a timely manner -
Has clear knowledge of broadcast rights -
Participates in station fund-raising activities as needed,
including on air membership drives

Position Requirements
Education and Experience
At least two years’ experience in music hosting and production.
Production, computer, and board operator skills
required.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
to talk, hear, walk, sit for extended periods, travel, occasionally
stand, use hands to feel and hold, and reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
and ability to adjust focus. Hearing is required. The ability to
travel, both by driving and flying, is necessary. The work
environment is usually an office and is usually quiet but may vary
substantially if an individual is covering news events.
Physical Demands
Work involves standing and walking for brief periods, bending, and
filing, but most duties are from a seated position. There is
potential for eyestrain from reading detailed materials on a
computer screen. Deadlines, workloads during peak periods, and
changing priorities may cause increased stress levels. Work
requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate
computer keyboards at a moderate skill level.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10
pounds.
