The Intern will provide support to the Board Affairs Team (BAT) of the Office of Governance Affairs. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by working with the BAT in preparing for Board meetings, gaining valuable mentorship and professional development opportunities.  The intern may also assist with other related tasks within the BAT.

Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the BAT, the Intern is expected to:

  • Support in the activities relevant to the organization of Board meetings, including preparatory sessions and cross-Secretariat coordination;
  • Assist in conducting and following up of Board consultations on policy items;
  • Assist in general documents-related work, including the Board documentation process; and
  • Assist in any other related tasks as required.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s or PhD program in business, finance, climate change, sustainability or related fields; 
  • Knowledge and experience with investments, financial institutions and/or climate change issues.
  • Good understanding and experience in operations of international organization is an added advantage;
  • Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills;
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage
