Description:
The Chattanooga Times Free Press is seeking a full-time remote page designer who can strengthen our design team and build attractive, well-organized pages on a daily deadline.
The successful candidate for this role will have the ability to design compelling and visually stimulating packages on a schedule that will include evening and weekend work. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable designing a variety of sections, including business, lifestyle, news, opinion and sports.
A good working knowledge of InDesign is needed, and knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus.
The ideal candidate will also have a general knowledge of AP style and the ability to proof pages.
Some experience in professional publication design is preferred, but recent college graduates with proven ability and strong portfolios will also be considered.
The Times Free Press is a successful mid-sized newspaper that can take a designer’s career to the next level. The publication has a news hole that would be envied by most papers, and our printing press allows color on almost every page. With tools like these, forward-thinking design is a top priority.
This is a fully remote opportunity. As such, relocation to Chattanooga, Tennessee, will not be necessary. However, should you choose to relocate, Chattanooga is a city on the rise. It’s one of the top outdoor destinations in the country and boasts a growing, thriving downtown. The city is also a convenient two-hour drive away from Atlanta, Nashville and Knoxville.
Please email a résumé and samples of your design work to Design and Systems Editor Dylan Chesser at [email protected].
