These positions are to be filled in regional bureaux, country offices, area and field offices. Post holders generally report to a Senior Program Associate and coordinate with the Head of the Field Office concerned.

At this level, the owners must show signs of responsibility and a spirit of initiative to respond autonomously to various queries with only general guidelines available. They are required to use good judgment in the face of unforeseen operational problems that may arise on a daily basis. Incumbents must manage resources and instruct and coordinate a team of support staff.


  • Provide effective specialized support and  technical analysis to activities related to policies and programs that effectively meet food assistance needs.


  • Provide technical support and assistance in the development and implementation of various activities and processes within the specific area of ​​work, supporting alignment with broader policy and programmatic guidelines.
  • Provide specialized project management support to specific and/or defined programs to ensure that various activities are carried out within established objectives following WFP policies and procedures. 
  • Within the specific area of ​​responsibility, prepare a range of reports and data analyzes (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, program status, results) and highlight trends and issues to ensure that results comply with institutional standards and quality control.
  • Ensure and/or conduct accurate and timely recording of data within the specific technical area of ​​work (e.g. assistance programs, food security and vulnerability assessments) and consistency of information presented to stakeholders. 
  • Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
  • Coordinate and communicate with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions to conduct accurate food security analysis and ensure efficient delivery of food assistance. 
  • Support capacity development of WFP staff, cooperating partners and the national government within the specific technical area.
  • Act as a point of contact for the resolution of a range of queries and operational issues within a specific technical area of ​​responsibility.   
  • Accompany and/or strengthen the work of other support staff, providing practical advice and guidance, to help achieve objectives in accordance with agreed standards and deadlines .
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure that WFP can respond quickly and deploy necessary resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.


  • Support in context analysis, thematic and technical tables where the WFP has representation.
  • Collaborate in needs assessments as a previous step to define interventions on the ground.



  • Completion of the secondary education cycle. Certificate of post-secondary education in the corresponding functional sphere. Related studies in social, administrative, accounting, nutrition, engineering, agricultural or related areas are desirable.


  • Minimum six (6) years of progressive experience providing support in programmatic or similar areas, including at least two (2) years supporting and working with corporate information management platforms

Desirable Experience

  • Has worked with technical teams (e.g. nutrition, vulnerability analysis and mapping (VAM), etc.).
  • Has contributed to the implementation of programs.
  • You have attended policy debates as an observer, or helped organize them.
  • Important management of office package (EXCEL, WORD) Management of databases, advanced level information.


  • Mastery, spoken and written, of Spanish. Intermediate level of English preferred     .
