UNRWA’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance, and emergency assistance. Project Assistant reports to Director Relief and Social Service.


  • Performs a full range of office management and administrative support functions providing direct assistance, as requested by supervisor to staff within the department.
  • Prepares travel documents and follow up on travel arrangements for the department’s personnel.
  • Responds to and drafts responses to a wide range of correspondences and other communications as requested by supervisor and officers in the department, uses standard software applications to produce a wide variety of documents and reports.
  • Provides support to committees, ad hoc taskforces etc, drafts and circulates agenda notes to members/participants, drafts minutes of meeting, organizes workshops and conferences and monitors follow-up actions.
  • Records and monitors expenditures against allotted funds, order supplies for department use and supervises distribution, maintains inventory records of supplies and prepares survey reports as required.
  • In support of department, coordinate with concerned parties on all HR matters, including contract renewals, new appointments, separations.
  • Acts as a focal point for REACH/SAP support services and provide first line assistance to users in the department.
  • Drafts and operates Micro Purchase Orders and Requests Services Entry Sheets as requested; assists in preparation of the technical reports, compiles, analyses and verifies statistical data.
  • Coordinate data management of activities relevant to Staff Care.
  • Support in preparing presentations, preparing and taking minutes in meetings and maintaining an archival base for staff care activities.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.


  • A university degree from an accredited educational institution in business management or related field.

Work Experience

  • At least three years of work experience in administration , Good knowledge of office policies and administration, Experience in using MS Office and administration softwares, and Familiar with excel sheets and other forms of data entry platforms. is required. A university degree from an accredited educational institution in business management or related field is required . Good knowledge of office policies and administration; and Experience in using MS Office and administration softwares is required . Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic is required. Experience with Palestine refugees especially those residing in camps is desirable . Experience in social work and case work interventions is desirable . Knowledge and understanding of the Palestine refugee situation in the political context of the Middle East is desirable .
