While
Roswell is most famous for the 1947 UFO incident, it’s also a vibrant community
with plenty of other news topics to cover. The Roswell Daily Record in sunny
New Mexico is looking for a news reporter with an emphasis on writing skills
and the ability to work well under deadline pressure. Most importantly we’re
looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a
willingness to learn. This reporter’s primary beats will include crime, courts
and education, among other topics depending on the news cycle. Knowledge of
photography, journalism experience and a college degree are preferred; but all
applicants will be considered. The reporter must present a professional
appearance while representing the newspaper.

We are a community-focused, award-winning daily in southeastern New Mexico. Our reporters enjoy the advantage of working for an
independently-owned, family-oriented publication. Decisions are made locally,
no faraway corporate offices. We strive to offer as much local coverage as
possible. Additionally, Roswell is a relatively short drive from beautiful
hiking areas at several state and national parks.

Please provide three writing samples. The position offers competitive wages, a generous gasoline stipend and mileage compensation for work
travel outside the immediate area. Our benefits package includes health, vision
and dental insurance. Interested applicants should contact our editor, Jason
O’Day, at [email protected].
No phone calls please. All applications should include a letter of interest,
resume, references and the necessary writing samples.

***Show some love and please mention newsaboutturkey.com* in your application***
