Description:
BoiseDev is looking for a talented journalist to join our team, focused on reporting and editing a forthcoming product serving the greater Valley County, Idaho area (including Cascade, Donnelly, McCall, Lakefork, Tamarack Resort, New Meadows, Brundage Mountain and surrounding areas).
We’ve grown quickly, adding talented journalists from backgrounds including television, traditional print, and digital. This position will join our existing team of seven journalists.
The ideal candidate will bring a desire to tell engaging, unique, and unduplicated stories that help tell the story of a changing and evolving area of Idaho. We aspire to serve the residents and visitors of Valley County with the highest-quality, fact-based, insightful news and information. The candidate will scout and report stories and will be responsible for working with our team to set editorial direction, story selection, and tone for a standalone product serving Valley County.
BoiseDev is the only locally owned commercial news outlet in SW Idaho, and operates a collection of interlocking businesses, including BoiseDev.com, morning newsletter BoiseDev AM, weekly food newsletter BoiseDev Eats, and events business BoiseDev Presents. It is a family-owned business that focuses on serving its community and fostering well-rounded employees both inside and outside of work. We look for people who are interested in producing work that puts facts at the forefront and building news products that put readers first.
Our preference is to hire a candidate based in or willing to relocate to Valley County, though due to housing costs, we would consider an individual based in or willing to relocate to the Boise area, with regular travel to Valley County. Candidate must live in one of the two mentioned areas.
We provide a work-from-home stipend, 401k match, health benefits, and a generous time-off policy that includes 14 company holidays (including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day) and additional paid time off.
The compensation range for this position is $53,500 – $57,500/year.
