Position description

SoCha is preparing to bid the Analytical Services V (ASV) that will be issued by the Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DRG). The DRG Bureau plans to release the solicitation in February 2025.Once active, ASV will provide on-demand support to:

  • Conduct DRG-related analyses, assessments, and research to meet the needs of USAID’s global cadre (for example, political economy assessments, literature reviews, and surveys).
  • Strengthen local capacity to conduct analytical work (including training and grants).
  • Provide rapid response technical assistance and on-demand technical resources and expertise.

SoCha is currently seeking qualified candidates to propose as Key Personnel in its forthcoming ASV proposal.

Scope of Work

The Research Director will:

  • Manage all aspects of research, analysis, and technical assistance.
  • Ensure the high quality and rigor of analytical services delivered.
  • Develop study designs.
  • Oversee the methodological and technical aspects of implementing analytical services.

The Research Director will report to the ASV Senior Program Manager.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced degree (PhD or M.A.)
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in DRG research, learning, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience applying different research frameworks, methodologies, and best practices in research utilization and dissemination.
  • Experience working with local universities, think thanks, and consultancies preferred.

Washington, DC

Salary

Expected salary range is $50,000-185,000, depending on advanced education and years of relevant experience.
