Position description

MPI Europe is seeking candidates for a full-time, in-person internship in Brussels, which offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of policy areas, including asylum systems, labor migration, and immigrant integration. The internship also offers the opportunity to collaborate directly with policy analysts and senior management. The successful candidate will also be involved in the organization of MPI Europe events, which can help enrich their professional networks.

MPI Europe has two openings, ideally for candidates with native-level Spanish and/or French. Both positions run from 1 March 2026 to 18 December 2026.

Profile

MPI Europe seeks applicants with:

      • At least a completed bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or current enrollment in a master’s or PhD program, with full-time availability during the duration of the internship.
      • A demonstrated interest in the field of migration, asylum, or integration.
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
      • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to handle a wide array of tasks, which can range from research activities to event organization.

Preferred but not required skills:

      • Languages other than English.
      • Experience with quantitative, qualitative, or policy research.

Duties

May include:

      • Providing support to the MPI Europe team.
      • Contributing to research efforts.
      • Preparing literature summaries.
      • Assisting in the dissemination of publications.
      • Attending and summarizing public and private events.
      • Providing administrative support for migration-related events and assisting senior management with related administrative tasks.
