Wanted Turkish mafia leader Sedat Peker said he will switch his location after a person revealed the hotel he was staying at in a broadcast.

“Therefore, I will take a long trip. It is difficult to travel with family, but we will get over this as we have all hardships,” Peker said in a tweet on Wednesday. He did not reveal any further details of his whereabouts, the broadcast, or the circumstances under which it was made.

Peker, who is living abroad to avoid prosecution, has alleged dirty dealings between senior Turkish officials and the Mafia in a series of tell-it-all videos on YouTube since the start of May. The revelations have prompted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to defend his government’s record on fighting organised crime.

Peker said the unscheduled trip meant he may need to delay the publication of the latest in a series of videos planned for Thursday and Sunday. Peker has been staying in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, according to some Turkish media reports. He said in February that he was living in the Balkans.

The mobster said on Monday that he was planning on talking about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s son-in-law and former finance minister Berat Albayrak and alleged irregularities in businessman Yıldırım Demirören’s 2018 acquisition of Turkey’s largest multimedia network in the upcoming broadcasts.

Peker said his Twitter account would remain open and he would use it should any “sudden developments” occur.

On Tuesday, a Turkish court blocked access to several tweets by Peker in which he spoke about alleged misdemeanours by a judge presiding over a regional court, Internet watchdog EngelliWeb said.
