Position Highlights The Department of Economics at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management, invites applications from qualified candidates across all fields for multiple open-rank, tenured or tenure-eligible faculty positions to begin in mid-August 2022. Preference will be given to candidates whose research focuses on econometrics, industrial organization, or microeconomic theory. The faculty member will teach courses at graduate and undergraduate levels and contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds. They will also participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college, and university service. In these and other ways, the faculty member will help develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement, increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners. We strive for excellence in research and teaching; for Associate/Full Professors, this is reflected by engagement in significant ongoing research, a strong publication record, and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching.
Our faculty research is published consistently in leading economics journals, and regularly wins research grants and national and international prizes. The Department’s instruction is also outstanding, with faculty members consistently winning university and national awards for their teaching. Our department is the home of the Economic Sciences Laboratory, the pioneer in experimental and behavioral economics for teaching and research, as well as the Institute for Behavioral Economics.

Duties & Responsibilities
Perform significant and continuing scholarly research, preferably in econometrics, industrial organization, or microeconomic theory.
Publish in leading academic journals.
Teach in undergraduate and graduate programs.
Train and mentor doctoral students.
Serve the university through various committee assignments and in additional ways, meeting the needs of both the department and college, and enhance their external stature.
Minimum Qualifications
Assistant Professor, tenure-eligible:
Ph.D. in Economics or a related field from an AACSB accredited institution by the start date.
Experience teaching at the university level.
Associate or Full Professor, tenured or tenure-eligible:
Ph.D. in Economics or a related field from an AACSB accredited institution.
Proven record of research accomplishments, evidenced through research grant awards, published papers, progressive academic promotion, or other criteria.
Proven teaching excellence, evidenced through course evaluations, teaching awards, or other means.
Preferred Qualifications
Research focus on econometrics, industrial organization, or microeconomic theory.
Experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives.
