Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) will reveal more “documents of corruption,” its leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has said.

“We will have many surprises for you, dear Erdoğan,” Kılıçdaroğlu said today (February 1) at his party’s parliamentary group meeting.

Last week, Kılıçdaroğlu said he had received such documents from “honorable bureaucrats who are resisting illegal acts of the government” and revealed one of them.

Accordingly, after a company won a tender with an offer of 3.19 billion lira (~235 million USD), the tender was canceled and another tender was lodged; companies close to the government won that with an offer of 9 billion lira. Kılıçdaroğlu accused President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of “gifting 6 billion lira to his cronies.”

Erdoğan refuted the claims, saying he doesn’t sign such documents about tenders, and Kılıçdaroğlu “proved that he is a liar.”

Responding to the president today, Kılıçdaroğlu said, “You are not in the tender commission, you are in the authority giving instructions. You say ‘Cancel the tender, wait for a while, I will give the tender to the friends from our gang.’

“And you say that ‘I will borrow money and I will be the guarantor for that debt. I won’t talk about a document I haven’t seen, dear Erdoğan. We will have many surprises for you.” (AÖ/VK)
