The Ministry of Health has announced that it found 117,095 new Covid cases between July 4 and 10.

Thirty-one patients died and 61,047 recovered in a week, according to the figures.

At the start of June, the ministry switched to publishing Covid updates on a weekly rather than daily basis due to the decreased infections.

However, since mid-June, the number of weekly new cases have more than doubled every week. It was 10,954 between June 13-19, rose to 26,635 in the next week and to 57,113 in the subsequent week.

The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) in early July recommended the government to bring back the indoor mask mandate, which was lifted except for hospitals in late May. (AS/VK)
