Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoğlu said a new decree including the appointment of an ambassador to Israel is ready to be presented to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Cavusoglu mentioned no names of possible envoys, state-run Anadolu news agency said on Wednesday.
Turkey and Israel are making efforts to mend relations that was deeply fractured more than a decade, over a string of disputed issues, including Turkey’s close ties with Hamas and Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians.
In May 2018, Turkey expelled Israel’s ambassador and recalled its own envoy in Tel-Aviv over Israeli attacks on the Palestinians in Gaza.
“The decree not only includes Israel but rather is a comprehensive measure,” Cavusoglu said.
The two governments that seek to mend frayed ties, signed an aviation deal in July for the expansion of bilateral air traffic.
Last month, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid also said that the two countries decided to restore full diplomatic relations and appoint ambassadors.
