The presidential candidate of the People’s Alliance, AKP leader, and President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held an election rally in Batman.

Addressing the crowd, where many HUDA Par flags were seen, Erdogan targeted CHP leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu’s videos about Kurds and Alevis, using the phrase “mischief merchants who broadcast Kurdish Alevi videos at midnight.”

As is typical in his rallies, Erdogan played a manipulated video associating the opposition with “terrorism,” saying that “Kilicdaroglu brings spring only to baby killers who dream of getting out of prison and to those who perpetrated the 6-8 October events. He brings spring to FETO traitors.”

“INCREASINGLY INSOLENT RABID MINORITY”

Addressing the crowd of allegedly 55,000, saying “We love Batman not for our own interests or exploitation but for the sake of God. We love you for the sake of the Creator,” Erdogan said:

“When I was 25 years old, I came to Batman as the youth branch president of my party. I saw how excited the women were in the square. Batman’s women bury some people at the ballot box.

We are the grandchildren of Saladin, of Alparslan, of Fatih (Mehmed II), of Yavuz (Selim I), and Kanuni (Suleiman the Magnificent). No calculation can change this truth. No one can break us apart. Neither the mischief merchants who broadcast Kurdish Alevi videos at midnight, nor the dirty hands trying to stir up our streets, nor the covers of Western magazines pointing their fingers at national will, nor the vile threats of terrorist barons in Kandil, nor the increasingly insolent actions of the rabid minority can intimidate us, subdue us, or break our eternal and perpetual brotherhood.

No one can divide, separate, or pit Kurds against Zaza, Arabs against Turks, Alevis against Sunnis. What have we been saying for 21 years? We will be united, we will be strong, we will be alive, we will be brothers. Together we will be Turkey.”

KILICDAROGLU CAN ONLY BRING SPRING TO THE PERPETRATORS OF THE 6-8 OCTOBER INCIDENTS

Erdogan also said, “Kilicdaroglu can only bring spring to baby killers who dream of getting out of prison, to the perpetrators of the 6-8 October incidents, and to the FETO traitors. We made serious efforts so that mothers do not cry, and no household is hurt. We implemented numerous reforms that could not even be imagined, and raised the standards of our democracy by cleaning up the wreckage left by the tutelage.”

ERDOGAN MENTIONED TRT KURDI AND OPTIONAL KURDISH LANGUAGE COURSES

“We changed the authoritarian state approach that looked down on its citizens and saw them as enemies. We have discarded policies that do not value the beliefs, language, and culture of our people, and strive to serve all individuals regardless of their background. We have constructed a more inclusive and respectful language instead of the exclusionary and provocative language of old Turkey.

I say to all our brothers and sisters in Batman, we boldly took the delicate step towards free Kurdish broadcasts on TRT Kurdi, optional Kurdish language courses, and opening Kurdish language departments.”
