Families desperate for news on six Kurdish villagers held in detention

Families and lawyers have been unable to contact the six Kurdish villagers who were detained by the police in Peyindas village of Turkey’s southeastern Bingol province in the aftermath of the clashes between Turkish soldiers and PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) militants.

The clashes erupted on Friday during operations launched by the military and the villagers who were identified as Kerem Arvas, Mustafa Tedbirli, Necip Tedbirli, Heybet Celik, Serkan Ipek and Ahmet Celik, were subsequently arrested, according to information provided by the Mesopotamia Agency. The

The families of the detained villagers have expressed their concerns, saying that they have been unable to reach their children since the morning hours and are worried about their well-being.
